Sisters Jane and Claire Haddon climbed Snowdon on Sunday 13th July in memory of their dad for Pancreatic Cancer UK. The girls friends Bethan Jones & Su Perry also joined them to do the climb which took them just under 6 hours to complete to the top & back down and to date have raised around £940.
Jane said “At the start I thought it wasn’t going to be too bad as it was dry but then as the showers started and the wind got up I could have easily turned around but it was sheer determination that kept us going. Considering no effort at all was put in to any training to do the climb beforehand, I can say we didn’t feel too bad once we completed it but was a different story on the Monday morning when the alarm was going off to get up for work”

They passed people of ages including youngsters doing the climb, some doing it for pleasure and others doing in memory of loved ones like them

Jane & Claire would like to thank Bethan & Su for joining them on the day to do the climb and also to all family, friends & work colleagues past & present for sponsoring them for such a worthy cause.
Claire said “It helped a lot having friends do it with us as we all egged each other on when we were lagging and at times we thought what are we doing putting ourselves through this but then we would think of our dad, knowing he was looking down on us, it gave us inspiration to carry on”
