Due to the hard work and commitment of all the staff throughout the year they were treated to a four day break in Dubai.
The holiday started with everyone being picked up at 4am on Thursday 28th November 2013 to make their way to Manchester airport, as you can imagine at that time in the morning there were a few tired people on the bus but also some very excited ones too!!! Our flight was at 8.45am and we landed in Dubai at 7.20pm local time. After settling in to the hotel, it was time to relax and go and have a few drinks at the Irish village before the three busy days we had ahead of us.
Friday was spent on a luxurious yacht and as you could imagine, most would only be able to dream about this kind of lifestyle. After plenty to drink the chatter & laughing was unstoppable along with a bit of sunbathing, a lovely lunch and a swim in the sea it was time to head back to the harbour, so after our high style life for the day came to an end we headed off to the “Barasti Beach Bar”.
With the sun shining on Saturday morning, the views across Dubai from the balcony of our penthouse were absolutely stunning so after having breakfast it was time to get the bus we had hired to take us to the Dubai Rugby 7’s and what an experience that was, I mean the bus journey, a half hour or so journey that took about two hours because one moment the bus driver knew where he was going then he didn’t & so on but we eventually arrived at the rugby and all in one piece. The day passed so quickly and before we knew it, it was drawing to an end with an array of fireworks and after listening to live bands playing for about an hour it was time to join the queues to get the transport provided back to the hotel so another day had come to an end.
Our last day, Sunday normally a day of rest to us but we all spent the day at “Atlantis, The Palm” and what a day it was, the trill of some of rides was enough to take your breath away with the lads getting a bit competitive to go on the most daring rides. After a fun packed day it was time to head back to the hotel to start packing to come home but not before visiting the largest mall in Dubai for some to go up the “Burj Khalifa” and others to do a bit of shopping which ended up with James buying an engagement ring for his girlfriend and popping the question in May this year. The time had come for us to make our way to the airport for our flight home, everyone with glum faces as they didn’t want it all to come to an end!!!
